Hi Paulette,

I just saw your open letter.  Our dictionary is based on the printed version of the

Random House Dictionary, and thesaurus is based on Roget’s Thesaurus.  While we do our

best to update our site to the newest definitions of words, there are still definitions that

have not been updated for many years. Despite the fact that we have a full time lexicography

team, they have a long backlog of words to either define or define anew.  We are constantly

updating our content to ensure that we are making it relevant to new definitions and usages.

I’ve forwarded your letter to our lexicography team and they will work on this.  It actually has

been in their queue, we are moving it up in priority and are planning to provide a revised

definition in our next update, which should be in about 6-8 weeks.
