We all need help and support from time to time. Yes, we have
loving families and friends, who we can turn to for unconditional support in
times of need. Project We Care is such a "friend"!
The "We Care" Circle, is a place to welcome adults and youths
who wish to support our Wiccan, Pagan, and Heathen soldiers through interactive,
inter-generational activities.
Our Circle activities are located along the Illiana border of
Chicago's southside and NW Indiana.
The first “We Care” Circle will be to create protection bracelets and
dream catchers to send to our Wiccan, Pagan, and Heathen soldiers overseas. We’ll also
be writing letters and encouraging the “young ones” to draw pictures for the men and
women serving in the middle east.
I'd like to attend!
The Wiccan Interfaith Council International's "Project We Care", provides religious support and services for Wiccans and our Pagan, Witch, and Heathen friends. Our current focus of support is our brothers and sisters deployed overseas.
The war in the Middle East. There's no two ways about it, for whatever political reasons, some of our Wiccan/Pagan men and women are serving overseas, in what can only be described as dangerous conditions.
Regardless of their personal reasons for their involvement, the Wiccan Interfaith Council supports the right for them to practice their Wiccan/Pagan faith.
From East Bagdad, Iraq, Kuwait, Kyrgystan, and Afghanistan...these are just some of the places our Wiccan, Pagan, and Heathen soldiers are deployed right now.
And as Wiccans, Pagans, and Heathens, our brothers and sisters in faith need your spiritual support in a very immediate way. There are no metaphysical shops or Borders bookstores to pick up the religious items that they need. And as one Pagan soldier, Sgt. Eric Cooper puts it, "We're fighting a war on two fronts out there --- and one of them is to be able to practice our faith as Pagans".
Their support system relies on any friends and family members that know of their faith and support it - which isn't happening for most Wiccans, Pagans, and Heathens in the military. Yet, we can bring Goddess and God to them...)O(
"Project We Care" is an ongoing campaign, to collect and send Wiccan/Pagan books, CDs, and religious items (altar supplies, etc.) to the soldiers overseas, via our "We Care" packages.
